Computer Fundamentals for Teachers
Competency # 1 Computer Operation Skills
Module #1.11.1

Open and work with more than one application at a time

Getting there

So here is the deal, most computer can run more than one program at a time.  To do this, simply open the first program (like the web browser you are using right now), then open the other program (like a word processor).

To switch between them:
Windows: look down at the "TASKBAR" and click on the program you want to use.
MAC: use the pull-down menu under the icon in the upper right corner of the computer screen, select the program you want to use.

Exercise #1

While the web browser is still running, open the word processor, and switch between them until you are comfortable.  Then Quit (Exit) the word processor.
