Module # 2.8.1

Identify local resources for technical assistance

Getting there

So how do you know a local resource if you see one? Some are labeled. Others are dressed in suits.

Some things to think about:
1) People in your building may be very good resources. You must be careful though, just because they are sitting in front of a computer doesn't mean they know what they are doing. Also remember, that just because they are good with computers doesn't mean they are smart!
2) Computer stores usually have somebody to help you, but they are in the business of selling computer stuff.
3) You organization probably has a computer person.
4) Magazines often have good articles on computers.
5) Most computers have some form of help built in.

Exercise #1

Try to identify some person and a few other resources in your area to help you if you need it.
