Module # 7.7.1

Connect to county or university library

Getting there

So this is tricky!!!  First you must know the name of a computer at a library.  We can try this using:
library.ncat.edu

Now you must find a telnet program on your computer.  MAC: look for a program called NCSA TELNET, and open the program.  WINDOWS 95: click on START and then choose RUN.  Type in TELNET  then click OK this will open the telnet program.

Now choose FILE and OPEN (or connect).  When prompted for a location, type in the address above.  You should then see a welcome message.   Follow the directions to enter a user name and password.  Be careful to read each screen as you go along.  Each library has a different set of commands for doing things and logging out.
