Computer Fundamentals for Teachers
Competency #8 Media Communications
Module #8.1.1.4

Create Master Page (display and hide elements)

Getting there

First, a MASTER PAGE is a guide for how each new page will start out.   This allows you to place recurring items on the page once, instead of each time you add a page.  Look at how it is done in Publisher:8114.gif (3647 bytes)

You simply go to VIEW and choose GO TO BACKGROUND.

This will display those items and guides that are recurring.

While in this view, anything you place on the page will appear on each page.

To hide a background object, simply place something over it in the FOREGROUND view.

Exercise #1

You guessed it, try to place something on the master page or background using your desktop publishing program.
