Module # 4.6.1

Open a word processing document and insert an existing spreadsheet into the document

Getting there

Just like any copy and paste procedure, you must first highlight the part of the spreadsheet you would like to copy.  Then select COPY from the EDIT menu.   Now open your word processor.  Then place the cursor where you would like the information to appear, and choose PASTE.  If you are using Microsoft Word, you have many options.  Let's look at some.  First use PASTE SPECIAL under the EDIT menu instead of PASTE.  You will see:461.gif (6591 bytes)
Formatted text is pretty standard.
The EXCEL OBJECT will retain more of the formatting.
PICTURE will use the spreadsheet as a picture.
PASTE LINK is really cool.  What it will do is look back at the spreadsheet when you open the word processing document, and update it.

Click OK when you have chosen.
